Direct burial #2 aluminum and j box

Help with question please,

I have dug a trench and laid down the direct burial #2 aluminum, Do i just peel back the rubber and aluminum shell in a j box and bring the wire in the garage?
The aluminum shell is very sharp, i am afraid it will nick the inside wires.

Is this the proper way to do it?

I think its ACWU aluminum. After peeling back the rubber and cutting the aluminum shell it leaves a sharp edge.

You have PVC coated cable . There is a connector that is rated for this cable. The connector will connect to the enclosure (box or panel). The pvc jacket and the aluminum armor terminates in the connector. The conductors then route in the enclosure

It appears you have a type AC (armored cable), the photo is a type MC (metal Clad). The MC has a full size grounding conductor. The type AC will have a smaller bond wire that works in conjunction with the Armor to form a ground path. Can you tell me how many full size conductors you have in the cable?

Are installing a single phase feed?
How are the individual conductors identified?

They are two hots, neutral and a bare ground wire.

That cable can be run all the way to the panel box with the metal jacket being terminated in a clamp with a red bushing like these. It doesn't need to be in conduit.
