Direct burial cable in crawl space

I’m replacing the feeder that goes to my garage, from my main panel in the house. My question is, how do you run direct burial cable through a crawl space? Is conduit required? The wire path, through the crawl space, saves me about 20 ft of cable, and 75 extra ft of trenching.

Thanks

Conduit everywhere above grade.

That said, what is the rating on the jacket? URD is generally not permitted indoors, which is one reason Mobile Home Feeder is often preferred

Also, 4 wire feeder, correct?

This is 2-2-2-4, underground mobile home feeder cable, from Lowe’s. I guess PVC conduit is in my future.

If OP is in Canada, there are a couple of direct-burial approved armoured cable types that can be used above grade.

Fair, although his profile does say us.

Can you link the cable types you are referring to? Curious to take a look

Can you run the direct burial wire to a junction box where it enters the crawl space, then run proper above ground wire to a second box where it exits the crawl space and then return to using direct burial wire after that?
