Built new barn and about to pull trigger on 4 post lift. Decided on direct lift.
Would Pro Park 9 be overkill if I have nothing over 7000 pounds including tow rig? Talked to Direct lift and they said there shouldn't be a difference is stability and 9k only needed for dually. Any one with experience have any input. Will mostly be used for light work on my classics but occasional service on my daily driver. Will Pro park 8 be sufficient or will I be sorry I didn't go with the 9. I am 6'5 so It will be raised up high when working. Thanks for input in advance

I bought the Bendpak HD-9XL but sort of wish I bought the smaller HD-7. It is shorter, which would fit my garage better but can still lift an SUV.

Not sure what growth would require more than 8000 pounds as a daily driver or classic. Maybe Im just not thinking of everything. Would never own a dually. Most is a 2500 pickup. More interested in if there is stability difference or stability issue when wrenching on things. Just trying to make sure I am thinking right before ordering. Thanks.

Are the ramps wider? More width between the posts? More clearance under the ramps at full height?

Space between ramps could be useful if you work on cars.

I have a 8000oh witch im not sure if they make anymore and it's a great lift. Lifts f350 crew cab power strokes with no problem. The decision really comes down to lift pad height to accommodate lower vehicles if your never gonna need with small cars you've got no worries but if you are that's the biggest thing that the bigger lifts usually have trouble with

If the cost isn’t significant, and you have the room, I would always get the bigger lift.......I swore I would never EVER own a dually and here I am actively looking for one. Plus, it’s always nice having a little more buffer on the rating when you are working on your cars as well as trust me, lifts and friends are like winning the lottery - people come out of the woodwork when you get a lift.......

I bought Direct Lift's ProPark9 because the ramps are wider than other models. This allows it to fit both my F250 Ext cab & my small cars (MG, Alfa Romeo). I am happy with the lift.

I have the PP9. Needed the wider ramps but I also liked how the linkage is boxed in on the 9. The 9 has a rolling jack available from Direct not sure if the 8 has that option. I pull the truck far forward to miss the garage door opener so its not centered and the stability of the 9 makes me feel better.

Thanks for all the info. What was the need for wider ramps if they have the same opening in the middle of runways.

You sure a 9K is enough? My F350 crew cab dually is 8800 doesn't leave much capacity.

My truck tire width is 77.5. The PP9 is79.5 while the 8 is 75. I couldn't see buying a lift that my tires hung off.

I misunderstood when you said ramps wasn't thinking of runways. I get what your saying now but does that get in the way when width of cars that would use it most is 60" & 69" track width. Would wider track get in the way when its jacked up and you have to lean in to work on things. Just trying to cover everything.

I chose the PP9. Even though 95% of the use is with cars, it's still a slightly snug fit the other 5% when carrying my Ram 2500. The slight extra room is just a plus when working on a narrower car.

The 9k - better to have the room for growth if use changes

That was my point above, especially if the lift isn't certified

Thought I had decision made and and found a local dealer that has Challenger CL4P9X for a little more. Anyone have one and is it worth extra money?

Thanks for all the info
