Direct Lift or Atlas?

I'm about to pull the trigger on a four post lift and thought I would see if I'm forgetting/missing anything.

Shop = 30' x 50' metal, Straight wall, building.

Vehicles = '05 Dodge, 4 door, pickup, '88 & '90 Suburban, '67, '68, & '69 Firebirds, '65 Bonneville, '00 Crown Vic.

The "Plus/XLT" has a high enough lift to park any of my vehicles under it plus it will make it easier to lift stuff on and off of the top of my office/storage/cleanroom.

I'm liking the Pro Park 8 Plus and the Atlas Garage Pro XLT.
The Direct Lift is certified, only about $200 more, and has a few other minor features I like, so it's leading the way.

I've been reading all of the lift threads on here that I can find for the past year or so and see that many have their favorite brand and think it's better than any other brand because of (insert reason here). I am open to suggestions, but these two are the ones I came up with on my own.

if the DL is certified, has a few other features you like and is only $200 more, I would go with that. How do the warranties compare?

I stopped by Greg Smith Equipment and checked out the Atlas four post in person. It looks identical to the Direct lift except different pumps, they told me they are made at different factories in China.
I ended up going with the Direct lift do to it being certified and also a longer warranty than the Atlas lift, I also noticed the welds on the Direct lift were better than the welds I looked at on the Atlas lift in the showroom, so for the price difference it was a no-brainer for me.

SWEET! That's what I was looking for.

Does anyone know if there is ever a sale on the Direct Lifts? It looks like they are all priced the same no matter where you buy from.

Next question:

Why do the jacks cost so much? :confused:
I would like to add a Direct Lift Pro Jack 3500, but for 500 bucks I think I could live with a bottle jack.

When I purchased my DL I wasn't able to find many deals on price. With all the pricing being about the same, I purchased from the company that gave the best deal on shipping. This saved me around $100

I've got the Pro Jack 3500 and love it, If I had the money I'd buy another one which would make tire rotation as easy as a 2 post lift.

I have had the Pro Park for several years with no problems. It handles my Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 with ease. When I ordered it I added two of the 3500 jacks. They have been a life saver at times. Only thing I would change is get the air kit for the 3500. Would be well worth the $.

I ordered from Greg Smith. They were good people.

I've had 2 Direct Lifts so far and I love them both. Had a Pro Park 7 in Washington and now a OH8000 2 post here in Colorado.

Other than 1000#, $500, and the 9k has a different lip on the inside of the runways for a roller jack, are there any real differences between the 8k & 9k lifts?

Which brings me to the question; For light hobby use, is a roller jack worth the extra expense over a slider?
