I did a search, but no luck. My T12 fluorescents are old and I want to replace 4 fixture with an LED fixtures. Around 5000 lumen should be good. Is there anything that is direct wire to the ceiling box rather than plug in? I can buy all sorts of cord-plug-hanging-chain types. I want to mount to the garage ceiling drywall and wire directly to the electrical box.

are your existing fixtures garbage ? LED direct wire replacement bulbs are available

if you are doing the whole fixture I recommend avoiding exposed LED types they can mess with your eyes I would get one with a diffuser

Quite often, in garages and workshops, folks are using fixtures designed for commercial applications in a space that's residential. Highbays, Linear strips, and such, have their own wiring compartments, so they aren't usually attached to electrical boxes. It would be redundant. That's why they're a little harder to find.
You might have luck if you look for a "surface wrap" fixture. They're usually a wider body which will cover the electrical box.
Good luck,
CD

If you look carefully at LED fixture specs you may find one that is direct wire. I did here in Florida, didn't need it so I moved on.
Amazon has a lot of LED fixtures. Curiously some (most?) are international (?) and are meant to be wired in with stranded rather than solid wire. Odd to work with but LEDs don't have the current draw of Tungsten or Florescent fixtures. They don't give off the heat either, I like that.

Not sure if this is still relevant, but I swapped all of my Fluorescent 4ft fixtures over to LED. Menard's (and i'm sure other stores as well) have ballast bypass LED bulbs. They were I think $12 for a 2-pack. The ballast bypass bulbs run directly off 120V. You can rewire any fluorescent fixture very easily to accept the new LED style bulbs. Most fluorescent fixtures can then easily be wired directly rather than using the plug. Going LED using my pre existing fixtures was dirt cheap since I already had a shop full of fluorescent lights. Half of the fixtures had bad ballasts anyway and they always took forever to brighten up when it was cold. Would have cost way more to replace ballasts and fluorescent bulbs than it was to rewire and swap in LED's. And holy cow is the light output a million times better with the LEDs!!!

Thanks for all the answers. After some searching I found Menards has Feit Electric 48" LEDs that are direct replacements for fluorescent tubes. $12 for a two pack. Plug and play, no mods or changing fixtures. 1800 lumens each, slightly brighter than fluorescents.

Those will definitely work assuming your ballast's are still good...... Bypass LED means the electricity won't have to pass through the ballast which eat up all efficiency gained by going LED though. And those direct swap(plug & play) LED bulbs won't work once the ballast goes. If all you're after is the light output then that's definitely the easiest way to go.
