Dirt in toolbox? A Question for guys with a worktop Toolbox

Guy-for those that use the top of their toolbox as a working surface, does dirt drop in your drawers when using the top???

In industrial maintenance i get a little debris in them over time. I just fully open the drawer and hit it with an airblast while wearing a face shield.

No. Some dust and dog hair now and then, but no dirt.

Not much in way of dirt.. But I'll admit I've temporarily lost a small tool or part a time or two.

I am pretty **** about tool placement, it's in use or it's in the large magnetic tray (I have three on each lift, two rectangular one on each side of the wheel clamp for parts and a LARGE tray for holding tools) or the tool gets put away.

I have on occasion been working on the top of the roll cab..and drawer has been open just an inch...or I opened it to get a tool and swiped a tool or part into the drawer.. Then later looking for the tool or part, it's nowhere to be found...lol At that point I KNOW it's in the tool box...

I tip out the toolbag weekly to get all the odd bits and dirt out. Otherwise it'll double in weight within a month.

The home toolchest has more random bits than tools after a year without a cleaning.

We have a nasty habit of "adding" all kinds of odd things to our buddies tool bags.......
