Disadvantages of ceiling mounted airlines?

Thinking about running part of my compressed airlines over the ribs of the tin on the ceiling in my shop, just was wondering if there was any drawbacks to this versus mounting them on the wall?

None I know of. Just sore arms from reaching overhead installing them and they may get in the way of lighting fixtures you may want to add later. Assuming your drops WILL be on the wall ? . JMO

Our drops are in rows in the shop ceiling and hanging down. Since we have a couple of vertically challenged guys, I made the hose/couplings so they were 6'3" from the floor. Then, we hired a guy who is 6'8". May need to buy him a crash helmet.

Drops will be down the walls. Just trying to keep some wall space free for future cabinets/shelving...

Put a hose real on the ceiling in the middle of the shop. You will use it all the time. I hate working around hoses coming out of the wall across my work bench

My airlines are mounted to the ceiling and sloped to a low point to allow water to flow to the lowest point. No issues.

I don't see anything wrong with it, either. As Jo said above about mounting hose reels out in the center, I have one hose reel mounted about 2/3's of the way across on one side of the 2 post hoist and the other mounted about 2/3's the other direction next to an island work bench. Both of the air lines to these, run across the steel trusses near the ceiling and drop down to the hose reels with rubber pigtails. I have drops along the walls, but except for the one at the blast cabinet, the hose reels are used most of the time.

I did mount one hose reel in the middle, then I'll pry add 2 additional drops..I'll most likely use the house reel 90% of the time, I'll use drops for spray gun use.
