Maybe I've finally been had, I got a mac pt700m-6 pistol grip style coolent system tester at a pawn shop today for 45$ (they wanted 75$). Got home to try it out and it doesn't build pressure. Is there a way to Disassemble one of these that anyone lows?

I don't know about the mac one but I have had my stant apart. Just unscrew the ends from the tube.

The stant has a leather cup on the plunger that makes the seal and builds pressure. This is supposed to be oiled and if not it dries out and can cause problems. I bought a used stant that wouldn't work and it had rusted threw on one of the ends. Is there a little hole on the top somewhere? If so try adding some oil and see if that helps.

Reviving this thread to say thanks. My same model Mac tester had the same problem after sitting for several years. A few drops of 3-in-1 got it back working again.
