Disassembling a Blue Point AT700F

Short version: How do you disassemble the motor assembly on a Blue Point AT700F?

Long version:
Came across a Blue Point AT700F at a pawn shop the other day. Was dirty as hell, but looked to be in decent shape. For the price ($13.50), I couldn't pass it up, even though I don't really need another air ratchet. Once I verified it worked (7 day guarantee), I went about disassembling it for cleaning/lubing. Got everything done except the motor assembly. I've done plenty of impact wrenches, but this is the first air ratchet I've disassembled, so I don't know if I'm missing something normal, but I'm not sure how to get the motor apart. There is a "bearing cap" on one end, but I'll end up destroying it trying to pry it out. Anyone have any suggestions?

They're a pain in the a$$ to take apart, honestly. Basically, I just lightly tap the spline end with a hammer to drive it out of the front motor bearing. Once that's apart, you can take the cylinder and vanes out. Don't mess with the end cap unless you absolutely have to, as yes, you will destroy it in the process. And I use an arbor press to put it all back together when I'm done.

Truthfully, if it runs fine, I wouldn't touch it.

I was afraid of that. The main reason I wanted to disassemble is that I feel what could be a hitch in a bearing when turning it. It could just be something else catching, though, and it is functional.

I've seen many air tool bearings with hitches or tight spots in them, yet run perfectly fine. Also, it may be a vane with an issue causing the hitch. Just put a couple drops of air tool oil in the motor and spin it before reassembly, often tight spots go away with oil.

Yeah, I think I'll just run it for now. Probably disassemble it down the road, but I don't think I will do more damage by running it.
