Yes. If all you want is a disk sander, buy a stand alone or belt/disk machine.

It is most of a Shopsmith, most likely an er model. I'm biased, as I am a Shopsmith guy. If you are looking for just a disk sander it actually isn't a bad idea. The tubes can easily be cut to reduce the length. It has a large stable table.
The bonus would be that this machine, with a few parts that are possibly there could be a nice lathe, horizontal boring machine, and tip up for a drill press. You can also mount wire wheels, drum Sanders, etc.

Though I appreciate the thought I really want a disc/belt sander with at least 9" disc
As for those other things it could be....I have most all of them. But spares could be helpful

This is in an estate sale. It would need to be dirt cheap for me to buy. I really don't have the room and would need to cut it down alot

I'm guessing it's dirt cheap.
Fyi, that's a 12 inch disk and they work great.
It's not a belt though, so...

If you get a chance look for the rest of that ShopSmith. Whoever is selling it probably doesn't know what the pieces go to. Get a catalog and look for things like the drill chuck, saw safety shield etc. Could even have the additional bandsaw and other attachments just sitting around the basement.
