Hello, this is my first post on garage journal. Man there is tons of info here!

In another life I used to be a autobody tech. Due to career availability I had to move on. That being said I still do a lot of automotive work at my home in my garage.

I have a cornwell electric ratchet cct108 1/4” electric ratchet that I have used the **** out of! It has held of well however it has started to fail. I am looking for a rebuild kit for it.

I am no longer in contact with any cornwell guys and apparently cornwell has moved on to selling Milwaukee products rather than their own stuff. Way back in the day I could have swore I heard one time that the Milwaukee rebuild kit fit the cornwell, but I don’t know if that was true and I cannot find any info on this now…..

Do any of you have more info on this? If I can’t get it fixed I’ll probably look at moving to a dewalt ratchet simply because I already have the batttery system and other tools for it.

Thanks

How are those batteries holding up? They must be over a decade old now?
Hows the ratchet failing? You may have already done so, but I’d disassemble it and see whats wrong. A good clean and lube may be all it needs.
I’ve had good success contacting Cornwell by phone for information. They may not be able to send you a repair kit (if its still available), but should help you locate a dealer that can. Let him know you are an auto body tech emeritus.

According to PTR, the rebuild kit for the head is the same as Sunex. #RSRHK250, they don't have it in stock, no clue if anyone else will.

Thanks. The battery seems to be holding up surprisingly well. It’s failing in that it’s ratcheting but it doesn’t always turn the socket.

It could possibly just need cleaned…..

I have contacted cornwell and never heard from them. I’m a little Dissapointed about that.

I bought the ratchet in 2014ish?

I’ll check out that rebuild kit and see what I can find
