I am looking for a place to shop online that has discount fluorescent light bulbs. I am wanting to replace all the lights in my house. Lowes wants a arm and a leg.

I have found that the best prices can be found at the local home centers. If you find the 4 foot tubes online the difference is eaten up with shipping. I needed to purchase 60 plus tube the other day and I got the at HD in 20 tube boxes. Another place that someone told me about after I bought was the local Industrial Electric Supply Company. I didn't check out the prices.

for tubes, I went with 1000bulbs.com
I'm just about to order a bunch from there. Even after shipping, if you buy a case or two of bulbs they work out to about $2 each vs $5-7 for the same thing at Lowes/Home Depot.

Of course there's a big difference whether you need 5 or 75.:lol_hitti

exactly, I bought 3 cases (75) of the litetronics l-337 t8 32w 5000k bulbs and it worked out to like $2.50 after all was said and done. Home Depot and Walmart wanted like $5 a bulb for ****** ones

Des Moines Iowa here- Home Depot is about the cheapest. Menards has very LITTLE to choose from. Lowes is very costly and not much to choose from.
HD offers contractor packs (savings by bulk purchase) and just about any bulb you can want.

That's the thing - color temp. The good stuff, 5000k and above is WAY expensive at local places...even if they might have some 'cool white' tubes for around $2.

Home Depot had a 30-pack of 4' Philips T*s for $32.** last time I got some. I changed all my old fixtures to T8 and added a bunch of new ones.

Don't buy singles anywhere.

I'm going to take a guess here and say I think the OP was talking about CFL's because he said they were for his house. And no I don't know where you can get those cheap.
But while we are talking about tubes, I bought a 30 count box of sylvania 4' T-8 4100k 2800 lumens for $35 at Lowes. http://www.lowes.com/lowes/lkn?action=productDetail&productId=291833-3-22265&lpage=none
I know there not 5000 color, but at $1.17 a bulb they're not a bad deal.
Yes, You pay through the nose if you buy singles or two packs.

1000bulbs.com is about the cheapest and they usually give bulk (6+) discounts and have a huge selection of wattage and color temps in CFL's.
