you can probably forget saving the shingles. in that texas heat they're stuck together very well, and that's what they're supposed to do. Can you move the whole thing in one piece? Might not be as expensive as you think if you consider taking it apart cleaning it all up and rebuilding it.

i plan on removing the barn in as larg of pieces as possible. i am going to take the walls and the roof down to the studs and rafter and then cut then in half so that they are manigale. when it comes time to reassemble i will just have to double stud them where i cut them in half, no big issue there.

Nox how tall are the walls . I would think if they are less than 10' tall . I would try to cut the top and bottom plates in as long of pieces as you can manage ( with help ) to get onto a trailer . This will be easier than double studding walls that were cut in half top to bottom.

well the length is the issue, i have a 20 ft trailer and the walls are 38 ft long. but yes i am going to cut the top and bottome plate free, just then cut them to 20 ft manageable lengths.

Nox one other thing you might look at is some episodes of the TV show I originally posted maybe on HULU or something . I actually did see quite a few episodes and they did have to cut buildings up to move them from time to time . Might give you some helpfull info for perspective.

I have a barn/garage (see my FNG intro) that the previous owner moved to the property. I was originally a one lane, wood frame bowling alley. He cut it into large panels, moved it and bolted it back together onto concrete slab. I understand from his family that he expected to move it again, but never did. I haven't started my rebuild yet, and so have not gotten close enough to the ridge beam yet, but I think he split the ridge lengthwise to separate the roof sections. I can see where they are bolted back together now. The same with the top of wall sill plates.
