Disston Torpedo Level

I scored this Disston torpedo level at a flea market over the weekend.. The guy threw it in with a purchase of 5x mini license plates that Indiana had as key chains once upon a time (I will be posting a picture of them on the License Plate thread).

Any ideas or thoughts "on the level"... the top plate appears to be zinc or magnesium.. to cover the level bubble / vials. Kind of interesting / neat old tool....

That's a very nice 9" metal torpedo level. Very handy around the home, yard, and garage. I have a similar Empire level like yours and have found many uses for it.
