Distance between gas & electric??

digging a couple of trenches for electric line and natural gas to the garage. anyone know what the required distance/space is between the two?

In my area is was a minimum of 12" apart for 120/240V and 3" for low voltage.

Check with your local inspection area tho as it could certainly be different.

I was told that if the power is in conduit, you can place them in the same trench.

You can usually put them in the same trench anyway.

With only 12" of speration, you can easily get them far enough apart with a 16" wide trench. Or have the trench dug 1' deeper than required and seperate them vertically.

Don't forget burial tape.
