My drivers side lift post will be against a wall. How far off the wall should I go ? I need room to open the car door, and room to do a brake job comfortably.

I have plenty of room on the passenger side of the car.

It will be a 2 post lift.

Wouldn’t the end of the axle be at least 1’ inboard of the outside of the post? And probably more? I find 2’ from outside of post to the wall is plenty comfortable. At my old house, I had 1’ and it was tight but I could squeeze through if needed. Plus you have plenty of space on the other side and can always back onto the lift if you need more room to work on that side of the car.

I went 36" from the wall to center of the post. I can roll wheels past it, walk past it, even pull an axle out of a car and not hit the wall.

Mine is 24" from outside of post to wall. Plenty of working room.
