Divider made from caliper

Have a large ID caliper that I never use, so opted to make a divider from it.
It is also a way to learn a bit about cutting on a rotary table.
After chatting with my mentor Kevin Scott, made a plan.

First order of business, make a fixture plate out of a piece of aluminum from a weight machine.

Fixture set up on jig bore to drill for center pins and tapped holes for clamps

Made a .750x.250 bushing for the rotary table and a .688 X .530 x .250 centerpin for the divider.

Next up weld an ear on to have enough material to cut the adjustment arc.

I had drilled one arm for 1/4-28 tap and darned if I didn't tap it 1/4-20.
So the treads don't engage as much as they should, but in this application they are just for jamming the screw.
Turned and tapped a nut then cut a groove in it to place a chain link, then tacked.

Shaped the arms and rough shaped the tips, they need refined some.
Thinking about a pencil holder next.

No, but I always enjoy seeing the names on some of my tools.

Finished the pencil holder today.
Started with a piece from some kind circle cutter.
After facing two sides, milled a groove in it, then silver brazed it to the arm.

Mission accomplished.
