if you have a rectangle height 81 centimeters lenght 96 centimeters. i want to put 10 saquare iron sticks that are 12 millimters in equal paces. ifyou divide that space to 11 spaces they will be 87.2 milimetres apart then if you put the 12 millimetres irn sticks the first seperation is 80 millimetrs the the other ones cones to be 75 millimeters. i want them to be alll equal. does anyone know how to do this?

And then describe things in length vs width. I'm stuck with dimensions going both ways and no details on how you are trying to align this.

It's quite simple if I knew what you were describing.

if you have a space lenghtwise of 96 centimeters or 960 millimetres and you want to put 10 sticks of square iron of 12 millimeters diameter in that place spaced equaly.

10 x 12 = 120mm
960 - 120 = 840mm
Assuming the sticks on either end are against the left and right edges, there are 9 spaces between all the sticks.
840 / 9 = 93.33mm space between each stick.

If on the other hand you also want spaces between the sticks and the edges of your rectangle, there are 11 spaces
840 / 11 = 76.36mm

Thanks Stuard fo your detailed explanation. Now it works :).
Now if I want to drill a center hole to the 12 millimeter stick just have to add 6 millimeters to existing 76.36 millimeters
