I will only be shifted over about 6" from where I wanted it with a lot less headache of working around a floor plate later.

Honestly lack of confidence putting them in the right place and being able to lift the wall over them when standing up the walls. I'm glad I didn't because the door and windows moved around a little and I probably would have had to cut them off. I used 3/8" tapcons and with a hammer drill and several helpers it didn't take much time to install them. Maybe over board but there are almost 60 all together.
I just don't like to look all that much and I plan on staying here forever so I wanted it to look nice to me. I could have done metal but I think I still had to have brick on the front even though some of the neighbors don't. "They were built before the HOA was in effect" or some b.s. The HOA is pretty laid back but my building is being built to the HOA standards in case things change.
Oh and the interior finish out. I plan on finishing it like a house interior one day less carpet, lol

Excellent build. Only problem is I'm thinking about abandoning my thought of building a new structure for my new paint booth out in the back of my property and buying an old building somewhere to put my new paint booth. You guys and these amazing builds remind me of how much work goes into a new structure. Your comment about .0002 being a huge variance made me think about a buddy who builds custom homes, He swears a 1/4" variance at the foundatuin can grow to a couple inches at the top and he'll have none of that. His projects all turn out amazing as yours is turning out.

Great looking build! This poor land starved fool is green with envy looking at your 26'X40' building. I was thinking I would be boss if I could punch out my 8'X10' shed to 10'X12' (max per code). It's funny in a sad way that some native Californians see my 55'X70' back yard and get all "WOW" over how "big" the yard is.LOL+face palm. Looks like an excellent start. Reminds me of my build. Doing it all myself with the help of friends when they have spare time. Keep at it, I'm still in process but slowly making headway. Your shop size is nice, and I like the loft. You may have better weather to keep chugging along. I'll have to watch this thread!!

I was looking at your build thread the other day. I like your design and also that you did with those pallets and rustic tin. I'm trying to figure out what I'm going to do on my vaulted ceiling part. I'm thinking t&g wide plank siding maybe
Most of the reason we bought the house was with this in mind. We found others but had restrictions to keep me from building what I wanted.

Great build, if you don't mind me asking-what's the cost on something like this? I'm looking into doing something similar and wondering how it compares to some of the other options I've looked into.
Got the windows and walk thur door installed last week. My dad came over and helped me install the siding this weekend. The two sides and back are done minus trim and paint. I need to get a mason over to figure out about the brick, I might just go up to the wall height the put siding on the front gable peak. Not sure yet on that. I bought some siding gauges to install the siding and they were well worth the $27. We put most of the siding in 3or 4 hours then I finished up the next day by myself. I would not have been able to do it alone without them.

I'm right around $20k at this point. All I need to finish the exterior is paint and brick. I'm hoping I can get that done for around $2k. Keep in mind that is just about materials only. I've spent less then $2000 on labor
I really love the building. I envy the flat land. I am curious as why you put the scissors trusses in the back of the building instead of the front? For me this would backwards. I would want the lift/ceiling height in the front and the shop area in the back under the lower roof. Can you explain your thought process behind this?

The attic trusses are over the garage doors because I'm using standard panel garage doors that would be in the way of the lift when the doors are opened. Also I want the lift in the back corner so it's out of the way when just parking 2 cars in there I'm not worried about banging a door into the post.

It's been a while since an update but I got the garage doors installed which is nice to be able to lock everything up now.
Next I decided to sub panel it off the house rather then run a new meter. 175' of trench digging. Oh and I dug it by hand because of the sprinkler system. Took a few days working on and off but happy I went this route.
Went with t8 fixtures
Got everything cleaned up and put down 2 coats of hd6600 sealer

It's done enough for now. Still need to run the 240 electric. It will be a while until I get around to finishing out the inside. I want to work in it for a while and figure out where everything goes before sealing up the walls. First project was to clean up my truck. She's been mistreated the last few months while I've been busy.

Got it painted and finished up the wiring is about it. I took a break for a little while. The driveway should be poured this week. Hope to start insulating and finishing out the interior. I plan on using OSB for interior walls

I wanted the same and will be doing tray truss' instead of scissor truss for the lift area. I was able to get a wider area at 12' height and the price was the same.
Got the driveway poured, graded and patched in some sod. I got a crew to do the driveway. Hopefully in a few month when it starts cooling off and I save some more money I will start finishing the inside.
