Anybody know a good online store for alarm parts/ systems
I need to do some parts of my new house hardwire. Seems most stuff is wireless.
My last build had a hybrid system with some parts wirless and other parts hardwired.
Wireless is the way to go. Easy to add or subtract as needed.
My alarm system is wireless except for a low voltage wire going to the control panel keeping the back up battery charged. Every couple of years I put new lithium batteries in the motion detectors and magnetic door sensors. The control panel has a cell phone transmitter to the company’s office. That way there is no phone wire or internet reliance if there is an intruder. If somebody kills the power, the back up battery lasts about a day.
If there is an outage longer than that, I have another bigger battery.

If you own the house and are willing to put the time in they I always suggest hardwire. Sure wireless has been getting better and for some people it works great. But I have seen it over and over again where wireless has issues. Or you have to update to get it to connect or some
Other device is interfering with the wireless signal. I have seen Bluetooth audio interfere with a wireless alarm system before. Plus if you have a high tech burglar they can get or make a scrambler that blocks wireless alarm signals. Plus if you power goes out having a wired system always seems to come back online easier and if you has to run off of a back up battery for awhile a hardwire system I would think will run longer on batteries. Now remember this is my suggestion. I have also seeing wireless work well before too just more times then not there are issues. Plus for

I used Alarmgrid.com- they were very good to work with, I installed a wireless system though. Their monitoring costs are reasonable too

My plan was to hard wire some of it -- the lower windows and a few of the motion detectors. Two of the smokes.
