I poured my own floor using a portable mixer and 2x2 forms in a checkerboard pattern. Poured every other tile then used the tiles as the form for the remaining holes. I did it at night in the dark in cold weather so it was not ideal but it came out well enough for it's purpose. Now I'd like to paint or stain it black. It's a sunroom/workshop and I'd like the floor to absorb as much heat as it can.

The potential problem I have is that some of the tiles tend to have on-going surface deterioration (dusting) probably due to a high water cement ratio in the mix or poor finishing or cold curing conditions. What could I do to seal these tiles and color them? Thanks
