DIY dust cyclone/separator?

I picked up a HF sandblast cabinet and a Ridgid shop vac, now all I need is a dust separator/cyclone setup. I see these prefabbed units online for reasonably cheap, or would I be better of making my own? Any suggestions?

buy one, cheaper than fab one... thought it is more fun to fab one.... I just can't find sheet metal 16 ga or 14 ga at cheaper price than just buying a premade. or a roller.

Few people reported those Cheaper ebay Chinese ones works fine. at $20.

If you wanted to fab one, there is that cone calculator (it's a full functional shareware) that prints out patterns for you... that you can just tape those 8.5x11 paper together to make a nice cone cut out.

Yup, buy one. I recently picked up one from Rockler. Works pretty well for sawdust.

I made one with a 55 gallon barrel and made a thien baffle. Works very good.

Here is one I built to capture drywall dust with a shop vac, works surprisingly well. I went with four chambers to try to keep the air velocity high enough to separate the fine dust.
