I have read and heared alot of horror stories about drilling into Golf balls. I cut some open when i was a kid but now i hate to hear about some one drilling into one.

I didn't have a problem, the newer one just had a solid core in it, probably rubber. The older one had liquid in it, I have heard of acid being in them but I wore a face shield while drilling into it.

Love all the ideas....never thought of the old screwdriver handles.

I do like the feel of the Snappy handles, but a bunch of them could be very expensive!

I use my files quite a bit, can't stand to see them bouncing around in a drawer-where they dull each other.

Saw a thread a while ago, where a GJ member built an aluminum organizer that separated all of their files. It was very nice.

I have a bunch of wooden file handles I got from my old job as broken files were scrapped, PM me if you're interested in a few.

If using scraps of wood a tapered drill will work better than the standard straight drill for the clearance hole.

lot of great ideas. just make sure you always have a handle on a file. I have seen some nasty accidents over the years from guys in too much of a hurry to put a handle on the file when filing on a lathe or even hand filing.
