I've been wanting to make my own bead roller for a while and have been collecting parts as I come along them. I think I have enough materials from what I seen in pics but I've only used one once and it was not mine so I'm not sure how to go about making it right. Does anyone have plans or pics and a description of how they made theirs? I'm thinking 18-24" throat, 12v motor, foot pedal, 3/8"-1/2" plate for the body, 1" bars. I have a plasma cutter, welding machine, lathe, grinders etc. I want to make my own dies too. I have no idea where to start.

Nine, sounds like a kick *** project. My first step would be to find a commercially available unit. Go by the specs, but look for areas that could or need to be upgraded. Instead of 12v I might be inclined to use a DC motor on a speed controller or an AC motor with a major gear reduction. I'll be watching!
