Idea came from NCCheesehead, can be seen here

Purchased a Rubbermaid 12" x 6' Linen Shelf from Lowes $7.97 + Tax

First I cut the shelf down the middle.

Measured my drawer (22 1/8") and cut as needed. Sorry, no pictures of this.

I then test fitted the rack.

I realized the Griplatch "tabs" were going to interfere with the rack closest to the latch. So on the second rack I cut it 20 1/8". The edges on the racks were a bit sharp so I hit them real quick with my Dremel.

Final step was paint!

Not bad for $7.97 and a few minutes of your time.

Thanks to NCCheesehead for the idea!

Looks good. I've got one of those racks sitting the garage waiting for me to do the same thing.

I have a bunch of these racks laying around taken out of an old closet. I know what I am doing with them! :)

If you don't mind, what kind of paint did you use? I assume it was spray paint, but what brand and type. Thanks.

I used some cheap Black spray paint my girlfriend left in the garage lol

I think she bought this at Wal-Mart, not sure but it does cost less than Krylon.

Nice!

We got a new Fridge/Freezer combo last summer and before I hauled the bad one to the Scrap yard I took the metal basket/shelves out of the freezer and cut the ends off to make plier racks!

looks great, I have a good length of shelving, I'm just undecided which box will get the pliers now so I do not want to cut it for the wrong one.

That old cman pipe wrench looks cool, never seen one like that.
Nice job with the racks, looks like you need a few more pairs of pliers now though.

Good idea, great implementation.
I also use CD/DVD wire racks that can be purchased at thrift stores for a couple bucks.

I have the one bought from the company via Amazon. It is still empty, it won't fit in my drawers as they are not wide enough. The drawers in my C'man top also isn't deep enough. I'm getting so tired of not enough room and too many tool box's. Sorry for rant.

I managed to get one of the Plyworx ones recently but could do with another. I contacted the guy who is from Texas I believe and he has no dealers in Europe!

I can't even find a wire shelf to do a homemade one though!

I just made one from a grey rack I bought at Lowe's. Thanks for the idea. It took a deeper drawer than I would've thought to clear snips on edge.

I picked up the wire shelf to make mine at Wal-Mart. 30'' long for $12. Came out looking exactly the same as the one in the original post. Good write up.
