I've been shopping around for DIY spray foam kits, I've seen a lot of mixed reviews on all brands. I haven't ever tried it so the best brands and best techniques are unknown to me. My budget will only allow me to do one wall at a time judging by the prices I've seen. I have a 30x60x14 and I got a $4,500 estimate to have it done by a pro, that's what made me look into the DIY kits.

I looked at that last year when l was doing our kitchen Reno. Look at the specs on the square foot coverage and figured it out, for me it didn't work out a whole lot cheaper at the time. If I remember right the kit was something like 500-600 $ each and I needed like 4 and for not much more I had a guy come n and do it. No fuss no mess. Bcd

I just had a 2" closed cell applied to my gambrel loft above my garage. 1500 sq' x 2 ( for the 2".. Cost me $3000 cash. Almost no way i could to that with the off the shelf kits of Tigerfoam. Not to mention the mess and then cleanup. I noticed a 6C. lower temp right away on similar 32 C. days. The rest I will fill with fiber glass after the rough ins are done.
Very happy to say the least.

I haven't considered getting the pro equipment to apply the foam. I'm kinda leaning towards saving my nickels and paying someone to do it, I don't know yet. All I know is it needs to get done sooner than later I'm tired of working in a toaster.

When I did the price comparison having a problem do it was actually cheaper then me buying the material alone. Go pro and if they mess up it's on them

I have used Tigerfoam to do the rim joists on an insulation retrofit. This was on a rental and we were under the gun to get it done. No foam installer was available for almost another month. I tarped everything and it worked out ok, but next time, I'll hire it out. Spray foam isn't quite as easy as the ad videos make it look like. A whole building would be lunacy unless there was no other option. Cheaper to go Pro and closed cell.

FWIW, I need a very small job done. I did find a contractor that would come out and do it. He wants $500 to spray about 100sq/ft for an outside water heater. It seems I priced a kit to do it and the smallest kit I could get was around a 200sq/ft kit for around $250 plus shipping. I'm still on the fence about it as winter is not closing in too fast.

I was given a partially used Touch-n-Seal 600 BF kit last week, and I used it up over the weekend. I am sealing 1" of foam over 2" of used, recycled polyiso rigid board insulation. Should give me an R-value of around 15-18 when completed. I got about 400 square feet out of the kit, maybe a bit less, which was about what I expected from a partial kit. It was very easy to do. I will need two more kits to finish my garage and I'm OK with paying $1200 to do that. If I didn't have the free polyiso board, I probably would have had the pros come in and spray the whole thing for me. The kits are good for small areas or touch up, or in my case, a skim coat for sealing and an extra inch of insulation.

I used the Touch-n-Seal fire retardant closed cell foam kits to spray my 28x32 metal shop building. It took four of the 600 kits to do the entire building (ceiling and walls). I bought them on ebay and it cost me about $2400, delivered for everything. Be sure to wear a respirator and tyvek suit, and cover all exposed hair, especially when spraying the ceiling! This makes a mess. I had a bare concrete floor, so I let it drip and used a floor scraper to clean up afterwards.
