DIY Stackable banana jacks disassembly

May need to turn my man card in.

Is there a trick to getting these things apart? Got one pried open with a couple of small flatheads but kind of mangled it in the process.

No idea why the don't ship these disassembled.

You sure it dissassembles? I have some that the outer plastic stays on to keep from accidentally shorting things. The barrel it plugs into fits between the banana and the outer plastic protective part.

Yeah these are setup to solder the wire into the banana plug like below.

Yeah. Those look like they'd **** to take apart.

Little bitty screwdrivers to push in the tabs. I'd probably clamp the round part in a small vise so I could pull the big part while pushing in the clips.

They shouldn't be assembled on delivery, they are kind of a one shot deal!!

Try a heat gun and gentle prying.

Try some adjustable snap ring pliers with 90 tips turned inwards.

Like these ones.

I like the heat idea. I have 5 more of these to get apart.

Looks like you might be able to get a pair of bent needlenose pliers and release tabs one side at a time. (I'm assuming there are notches and tabs on both sides of the connector).

About 30 seconds with the heat gun and slipping couple of small flat heads into the seam on each side separated them without any damage. Still... they should just ship them as parts.
