exploding air compressors.

Might help you to remember to drain the tank regularly.

I have to think there's something else going on with that pic. I wouldn't expect that much damage from a few hundred PSI. Also, they generally fail quite a bit more gracefully than that, tearing out on a seam, or blowing a hole in the bottom when they rust out.

I replaced a garage door in a shop due to an air compressor failure.

The door sections folded and spread around the driveway.

ripped the rails right off the walls.

I wonder if, once in a while, it would be a good idea to send one of those telescoping little cameras into the compressor to see if there are any really rusty looking sections? I think cheap versions of those cameras are pretty inexpensive.
