Do densifiers improve chip resistance?

Do concrete densifiers improve chip resistance of a floor? I have a power troweled slab, and have put a couple chips in it already. I'm thinking about applying a densifier before I move my equipment in, and if it will help resist chips, it will move up the list of priorities real fast.

It makes your good concrete better. Harder, denser, dust proof, etc...
Each floor has it's own surface strength. You may want to talk to your supplier if it is chipping so easy.

I cannot speak to your floor specifically but it does improve surface strength.

I don't know that it's chipping that easily. The ones that I have noticed have been the result of dropping something and having the corner hit the floor. But, if I could make it better for a couple hundred bucks before moving all of my stuff in, I figure it's a good idea.

My early experience with densifiers is that it improves surface abrasion quite a lot, but an increase in chip resistance might only be small. Probably depends on how deep the densifier penetrates too. They vary a lot depending on the type of densifier, molecular size of particles and porosity of the concrete. It might be very hard to quantify. Definitely improves the surface wear resistance.
