Do I give away a well worn functional floor jack?

I am questioning whether I should scrap it, I don't need it. I would like to give it away as it's a fully functional 30yr + older jack (with the removalble large saddle)!
Thanks,Nick.

What’s the liability on giving something like that away and it fails? Yes I have lost all faith in humanity. There are a lot of idiots out there and it seems I get to deal with them daily.

What about posting it on Facebook Marketplace for free curb side pickup? I think I’m going to do that with my old Walker 2 1/2 ton that needs a rebuild. I posted a 1980’s Weber Kettle BBQ this morning and had 5 people contact me with in a half hour. It was gone this afternoon.

I have to assume that “well worn” refers to the way it looks(?)-
So functional means working as designed(?)

So, is there a question in there!? Or, is this a vanity thang???

Being sued is exactly why I do not feel comfortable selling or giving it away! Habitat can do what they want with it. Works perfect ,looks like hell.

If you're that worried scrap it. Personally I'd have no problem selling it noting that its old and works but they're buying it as is and what they see is what they're getting kinda line.

Yes, there are liabilities. My wife's company lawyer told me I could be sued for neglect if the person I loaned a tool to gets hurt while using the tool. I may not be able to demonstrate that I had given adequate training to the person borrowing the tool.

I commented to an older acquaintance about his Floor Jack out on the curb. He said he had no use for it and it would be gone by morning. If you did it that way, you could always claim it was stolen from your yard.

I put 3 crappy floor jacks on CL for "$100 takes them all". Sold the next day. The guy drove 40 miles to get them.
They all worked, but two were those cheap mini-chinese ones, and the other was an old Sears jack that wouldn't fit under newer car bumpers.
