Do I have enough power to add a G73 Electric heater (30A 240V)?
I have 2AWG feeding my Garage Panel (100A). I also have the following circuits:
4-15A wall mounted outlet circuits
1-15A Lighting circuit (8x 2 bulb 4ft)(600W on 4 switches)
1-15A Garage door opener circuit
1-15A attic/hoist outlet circuit
1-20A 240V compressor circuit
1-20A 240V welder circuit (technically 40A as an intermittant load)
1-20A 240V AC (future) circuit for a a split AC system.
My garage is 28x24 (672sqft), with R13 walls and a combination of R6 (under attic floor) and R18 blown in on the roof), and is in KY with an avg winter temp of 25F(sometimes it will hit 0).
Realistically I can see the largest draw being the compressor, lights, and a plasma cutter (20A) at any single time.
Do I have enough power to realistically power a G73 electric heater based on the above loads (30A 240V). Is the G73 a good option?
I would bring the temp up in the garage quickly with a Kerosene heater, but the goal would be once its up to a decent temp (say 55-60) to only use the electric.
Thoughts?
