Do I have too many ratchets?

I see to many ratchets. I have a 1/4" flex head, 3/8" flex head, 3/8" flex head stubby and a half inch super long flex head. I would like to add a shorter half inch but I'm not sure I need it. My 3/8" gets the job done. I also have power tools but we were just talking ratchet's.

Compared to many on this this site, you're not even close, but you're off to a great start!

I have 60 plus or minus one or two all 1/4-3/4 and would and still buy a cheap clean USA made ratchet. You can never have to many if you run out if room in your box just dedicate a hand carry box for your clunkers and keep buying more :).

Need some 3/4" and 1" ratchets if you're going to have "too many" . . . .
. . . along with more flex-head ratchets.

Let's see some pics from those of you GJer's with > say 30 ratchets !! :D

You can knock me if ya like, but I've used Craftsman raised panels since I was a kid and as long as I can buy USA rebuild kits, I'll keep them in service.

The Williams 1/4" long flex and 3/8" long haven't been used much yet but I bought the 1/4" round head new and the 1/2" S-52 used........been putting them in one of my boxes and they are pretty damn awesome. Since Craftsman went overseas, when I buy new, I've decided on Williams.

One of the 1/4" S-K round heads was my Dads and that has been through hell on the farm and is still as smooth as silk after a clean up and some Super Lube. I use S-K when I want a fine tooth. The angle handle S-K 3/8" is the **** when you have an obstruction problem...........put a swivel on that and you can just about adjust a carb through the tail pipe.

I haven't used the 3/4" Armstrong yet but it was a great deal and couldn't pass it up.

Nice collection Pumpman. You've got nice variety of styles and sizes.

Hofferwood, like those stubby flex ratchets you have!

I'm still trying to find my first affordable Snappy ratchet as mine are all either Craftsman, SK, Kobalt, Husky, etc.

My favorite ratchet lately is the little Husky 1/4" and 3/8" combo stubby that came with little 45 piece set that is all contained in little plastic carrier. Actually, I've never seen another ratchet that has both sizes in the same ratchet as that Husky. It's also the only ratchet I have with rubber handle and not just steel.

This is an old picture. Ive acquired at least a dozen more since then. I did part with one this last year. I gave my brother the 3/4 drive KD because I got a 3/4 wright at the flea market for almost nothing cause the guy thought it was a junk brand.

op does not have enough ratchets. I have way more than but I don't know what the rhyme or reason of why I pick which one is. I like my craftsman rp's but i have started to dislike the quick release so I tend to leave them in my box.

Hoffer, are most of those Williams? I hear lots of good stuff about them... might have to pick one up.

Here's my current list-o:

1/4:
SK Round head
Craftsman RP
Wright

3/8:
Armstrong locking flex
Craftsman RP

1/2:
Craftsman round head (Older, no COO, maybe Japanese?)

So you've got me beat.. but compared to some of the nut jobs on here... (I didn't say it was a bad thing!), we are $$$ away from having a "problem".

Still need to grab a 1/4" long handle flex. 3/8" does the job 90% of the time anyways but I'd like the flexibility in handling the situation. (Get it? Clever, right? :D)

Tri-Wing round head Craftsman's were made in Taiwan. Same as Stanley's.

I have 20 or so ratchets and I only keep what I like in my hand. Yeah, some are useful and some are just to mix it up ... I wear different clothes, so why not treat myself to different ratchets?

Somewhat, yes. Just started posting here. Any suggestions for new ones to get? I'm a fan of U.S.A. stuff but cannot fork over the cash for the truck brands.

eBay or the classifieds section here have plenty of deals to be had on stuff you didn't think your can afford. Put in the time and effort to seek them out and you will be glad you did.

No you don't lol. I have several Gray's, a few SO, a few Danaher Kobalts, a few Mastercraft off-shores (2 are in a set I've had for years, the other is a flex handle), a couple old Mossbergs (one is female drive!) a Proto and a U.S. made Bahco. Most of them see at least some use!
