Just purchased a home in Lebanon TN and there's a 40 x 60 metal building that I'm looking to condition as a workshop. Not living on the property yet but was just there and realized there's no ventilation for what will be the attic space. I'm working with a contractor to put a metal ceiling in before I move the majority of my now basement shop. I asked him to replace the soffits with vented soffits and will be putting in vents along the length of the roof. The roof now has vinyl backed fiberglass between the metal and purlins. The bottom of the trusses are 14'. My plan was to do blow in insulation. I will cool and heat the space to at least bearable levels like 80 in the summer and 60-70 in the winter. Also putting in two 10' fans at 10' height. From what I've been able to see information wise is that colder climates seem to need a vapor barrier more when heating the living space but this whole topic seems a little vague as far as actual legitimate info. Thanks.
