Do I Need More Power Tools?

Out of curiosity, I wanted to see how many Ryobi corded and cordless tools I had.

I have a few.....and picked up 2 more today....the cordless trim router and tire inflator. The cordless lights? I've replaced the bulb with an LED version. It will last for hours on one battery.

Yes, I even have the Ryobi mower and trimmer.

And my table saw is Ryobi.

I have one....HF variable speed....I had a coupon and got it for like $20

That was just my Ryobi stuff....

I have 2 other routers....Crasftsman and Porter Gable. I'm getting rid of the CM...the PG stays attached to my router table.

CM 1/2" power drill

2 Milwaukee right angle grinders, 1 HF right angle grinder (each one has a different wheel on it)

Ryobi bench grinder

Delta 12" bandsaw

Some Chinese brand table top drillpress with xy table..

:beer:You need to upgrade that cordless right-angle drill to the new HP brushless version. I did, and it’s so much better. The 2-speed gearbox makes all the difference for driving screws in tight spots!

What a silly question to ask this group! Hell yes, you need more power tools, more cordless power tools for sure :)

Stapler, impacts -3/8" and 1/2", palm nailer, caulking gun, finish and brad nailers...

I have a palm nailer (air)...along with pneumatic impact, chisel, etc. My air line is close enough to make it easy to use.

Oh, and a Bosch hammer drill....

The tire inflator is one of my favorite tools. Great for mowers, hand trucks and such. Awesome on bike tires, doesn't baulk at 100psi or more.

I bought one of these a few months ago to empty 30+ tubes of thick flashing sealant. Used it the other day for a bunch of foam board adhesive/sealant. The gun is big and heavy, but it was only $50 and paid for itself that first time I used...Not only in time saved giving more profit, but in avoiding the resulting tendonitis. I would never use it on precise work though. Sealing a shower or door or doing a backsplash is a delicate balance of flow and speed only reproduced by human hands.

I would much rather have a Dewalt to match my other platform...But did I mention it was only $50? Not $200.

I'm liking the drill press with xy table, very handy to have that option !
Looks pretty solid too. I have a vise with xy travel but its a bit sloppy.

The keypad is hit or miss when it wants to work, the wifi range on it is terrible so I had to buy an extender, it won't connect to my F150 built in garage door opener, the lasers have gone out at least twice, the original openers open/close when they want to, the list goes on. The air pump is garbage (but I get it for small things like bike tires). The only good thing about it is I am able to use the app on my phone to open/close/monitor it, and the battery for when power goes out.

Im waiting for the right deal on a genie or chamberlain to pop up.

The garage door opener has a tire pump, that's crazy? How old is it?

How did anything ever get built/fixed/painted/cleaned/ground/polished/repaired/screwed in/screwed out/drilled/capped/cut/routed/sanded etc before rechargeable tools were created? Did we like live in caves and use wheels made from spokeshaves before 1980 or what's the deal?

Or looking at it another way is there anything left to do which CANNOT be done with a battery powered tool?

1980? Most didn't get a cordless drill til about 1990, and that was it, a drill...Probably a Makita. Hell, all I could afford was a Skill around 1992 or 93. That hundred and ten bucks was a ton for me in my early 20s. That's about $200 bucks today. As I recall it was only 2-speed trigger. And of course a keyed chuck.

An honest post....

And to be honest, I was 'bragging' a little at how many cordless tools I had.

Actually, I was kind of curious how many I did have....and it was a good time to get a pic just in case someone makes off with them.
