I poured my patio/s for almost 6 months now and still undecided if I really need to seal, water proof and use densifiers on it. I never use anything on any concrete project I did but reading on this site and on the net making me want to do it. I just need to convince my wife that $200+ of it is a good investment to make the concrete looks better longer..... Anyway, anyone can recommend what works and never mind the did not?
Here's what it looks....

A topical sealer will give it a nice sheen. If this is important to you then do it.
It will need to be reapplied every 2 years or so. This is a necessary step if you had colored the slab or stained it.

A penetrative sealer. like a densifier, will slow the degradation process and keep it looking newer longer. It will not change the finish. We do supply densifier to mason contractors across the country for exterior flat work.

Also note a topical sealer will protect better on stains It will also protect better on salts. As with any protective coating, penetrating or topical, they wear with the surface wear.
