Do I need to do any prep on new pour?

The concrete guys just finished the floor in my building, looks pretty good for the most part. There are a few chips where they did the saw cuts.

My question is, do I need to do any of the floor prep stuff like the acid wash or shot blasting on a brand new floor when I go to epoxy it in 30 days after the cure is done?

Does everyone fill in those saw cuts before you epoxy?

For best results most professional cement contractors put a sealer on the floor when it’s hard enough to walk and green enough for saw cutting. If that’s the case you will need to remove it by either shot blasting or acid etching.

It’s a personal choice to fill in or leave the saw cut cracks. I never fill them in my garages before I epoxy coat the floors.

They just used one of those polishing machines to get a smooth finish.
Some of the saw cuts are chipped pretty good, either they tried to cut to early or a bad blade. The last pour they did, the cuts came out great.
I guess I would rather have a smooth floor with none of the chipped cuts showing.
