I keep coming up with a allen head or a screw head it seems. All I want is a regular nut and bolt package but maybe that is asking way to much. Not like they make 3/16'' stuff anyway. Might just have to stay with the allen head but then I need to make sure I have that allen head wrench with me everytime.
Do they not make regular #10-32 or #10-24 bolts?

Fastenal has some 10-24 and 10-32 hex head.
Hex Trim Head Machine Screws
Most of these are 18-8 or 312 stainless and therefore more expensive.
Hex Washer Head Machine Screws
Most of these are zinc finish steel and less expensive.

Speaking of expensive, aircraft bolts (AN series) in #10-32 are very common, and are similar in strength to Grade 5 commercial bolts. If the OP knows anyone who works on airplanes, he should be able to beg a few.

If you call your local branch, they can get them for you in most cases. I got 8-32 and 10-32 from my branch in stainless. It took a little longer to get them, because they needed to source them from other branches, but if you get good pricing it might be worth it.
*Edit: The have them on their site now. Look under machine screws and choose 'Hex Trim' as the head parameter.

At work we have 4mm & 5mm hex head bolts we use since they dont have the #10's in that style. Just another option.
Bolt depot doesn't seem to have alot, but they have them in stainless steel.
