Do you loan out tools?

Several years ago somebody asked to borrow some yard tools to do a job I was paying them to do. Talk about a lousy impression especially since Northern Tool was selling yard tools at the time for about $5 to $10 each. Needless to say I let them borrow some rakes to clean up the job I had paid them to do rather than wait anouther day to get the job done. Then they got the twisted thought that I was giving them a lifetime loan on my yard tools and I snatched them off of their equipment trailer before they took off with them. The jerk returned to my home a day or so later and took them out of my garage without asking. That was when they were in trouble as far as I was concerned.

I only loan out HF tools to my friends but don't own any HF tools at this time.

Nope, I don't usually let people borrow.

My boss is notorious for asking for a tool and then leaving it in the ceiling or in his pocket. He's borrowed my light multiple times only to leave it in the ceiling and then close up the tile. I've found 3 flashlights of his as I go around working.

Today I found his glasses that he "lost" back in December...in the ceiling.

Rarely but if I do, I take a picture of the person I lend it to holding it - This way I never forget who I lent it to...

Wow, that's what you call cheap and stupid. Breaking and entering to steal your rake. Just go to the store and buy one for $10. Sheesh.

I used to lend my Felker tile saw to a contractor friend. The agreed upon price was a 12 pack of good microbrew and a cleaned up saw. He finally got busy enough to buy it off of me. Now I occasionally rent it from him for a 12 pack. It's an arrangement that has worked well over the years, plus I don't have to store it anymore, LOL.
