Do you need an extension with flip sockets?

I have standard anvil length impact wrenches so will I need an extension with flip sockets like this? If so, does anyone sell single half size sockets like 19.5?

Yes on extension. Don't know about singles.

The extension fits into the middle of the flip socket so the typical 3” extension works.

Astro makes 1/2 drive half size sockets but they left out 18.5 for some reason which is needed for 19mm nuts that lose their cap. #78204

I had a 3” extension break on me when I was using a flip socket and it left me in a bind, so I quit relying on them as my only sockets.

What you need is the impact wrench with the extension built in.

A band saw will make a double ended socket a single. A lathe or Mill will do it more nicely

The extensions wiggle around and then the flip socket wiggles around too. Alotta wiggling around going on.

Little do you know, I was trying to save you from that.
