Btw, not SURE they were mild steel... but I had one of those drill bits FOLD UP when drilling maple. It started twisting in upon itself. Somebody didn't take metallurgy 101!

I would have to submit my Jessem Miter gauge for my table saw.

Well if you can spend what 1.2 million for that car? Then your own carwash is a must, though its probably better to just hire someone to hand wash the thing.

This one is so over the top crazy that I'd kind of like to meet the person that would buy one. Personally if I had the near-infinite wealth required to buy this thing I'd have an army of slaves washing my car with q-tips.

The only serious home car wash I'm aware of is that guy in upstate NY who drives the gazillion mile P1800 Volvo, I think he's got over 2 million miles on it by now. He built some kind of underspray ramp thing to wash the salt off the underside every day in the wintertime.

My only pompous tool is a 24" SK crescent wrench. It lives in it's own section of my gangbox, and only comes out on special occasions. When I absolutely, positively must kick some fastener ***, I accept no substitutes.

Fail.. These are just user tools. They would be pompous in some shops here, mine, but in AP's shop not. For some here a 12 piece screwdriver kit from HF would be pompous.

I have a Proto long handle Big Dog ratchet. It's the Ric Flair of the tool world as it styles and profiles across the garage and all the hot sockets want to connect with it.

I thought it was pompous to study German.

Try your OTHER dictionary...clearly Monte isn't pompous, he doesn't speak German at all.

I'm pretty sure Rose used this word in and episode of 2 and a half men

I gotta say......my set of snap on crescent wrenches is the envy of all the guys I have ever worked with. I bought them in 96 I think. They don't make them anymore. Someone stole my 10 incher. I want another one! I still have the 12', 8', and 6'. They are flank drive plus with the teeth in the jaws. The new ones have the teeth, but they are no where near as beefy feeling. The old ones are all chrome as well. They gleam like diamonds with a cleaning. But they work to darn well not to use, so I dont know if that counts as pompous. They will take off a fastener that a regular quality wrench rounds off.

I always thought my Welch Allyn penlight (brass with a halogen bulb) was pompous. They were about $70 years ago. Since I knew the boss would never approve the purchase I just built one out of parts.
