Another thing, I've been known to go around a room with a small slotted screwdriver and make sure all the screws on the outlet and switch covers are facing up and down. But that just might be OCD.

I guess I'm hanging out with the right group, as I do the same.
I work for a Chevy dealership and every car or truck I deliver has the license plate screws oriented with the slots dead vertical.

One day a customer came in to rib me a bit:
Him; Look at my car! You put the license plate on upside down!
Me; Nope, wasn't me.
Him; You were the only one who touched it!
Me; Definitely wasn't me.
Him; How can you be so sure?
Me; Slots in the screws are skewed. If I did it, they'd be dead vertical.
Him; Damn ! You got me!

Nope, I'm not guilty of tuning up everything I touch...but this thread does remind me that I need to tune up my lawn mower & give it an oil change before next spring. :D

I did the same when I worked for a Ford dealer. Plus, when I parked a truck, the steering wheel was straight, all the hvac controls were facing the same direction, the vents were closed, etc. AND THE WIPERS WEREN'T HALFWAY UP THE ******** WINDSHIELD!

My biggest thing is not so much making everything look great but making sure they function properly. I bought one of the black tool carts from HF a while back and lock tighted every single nut and bolt on it same with the floor jack because when i got it home every bolt was loose

I've had to do that to all my aluminum floor jacks.
My 35 year old craftsman one never needed that.

All the time, recently it started with me noticing my blow gun wasn't really blowing and ends with me porting and polishing it. Heck even the brass tube on the outside got polished. :lol_hitti

My 193X something model B3 National Walking Lawn Sprinkler gets all the brass polished each spring when it gets disassembled for preseason cleaning and relubrication. Maybe this year I'll clearcoat it...
