DoAll drill press up and running

Got this machine at a Gov sale a number of years ago and finally got it rigged up with a VFD.
Appears to have been used hardly at all.

DoAll dgp-24, 2HP geared head with power feed.
6 speed transmission,2 speed motor and 3 speed power feed.

I had not messed with any VFD's before, so it was an interesting venture, getting it programmed.
It has an amp readout on the display, so no worries about over amping the motor on the low end.

I left the existing switches on the drill press wired up, but made a couple of aluminum covers for the switches, so they can not inadvertently used for control, that is done at the VFD.

Sweet machine and having power feed is a genuine treat!

That's a fantastic addition. Power feed is indeed nice! I really like the use of a milling machine vise on a drill press just as you've done...its mass is excellent at repelling the dreaded "spin", and if you need to setup a production job its just a matter of clamping it down to the table.

DoAll also made an articulated-arm drill press, sort of a long reach without the massive size of a radial arm drill with a similar head.

a 4" Cardinal vise fits nicely in the mill vise jaws for holding a variety of shapes and sizes.
I'm also thinking about making a secondary table that will clamp in the mill vise, so that the vise would rarely need to be removed, from the drill press.

Built a table for clamping in the mill vise out of some 1/2" aluminum and 2" tube
Light weight and saves from having to remove vise for drilling bigger pieces.
It is odd shaped because of the size of the drop, I had on hand.
