So how do you guys feel about the new D-C ?

absolutely love the look fo the new Dodge Challenger, to me it looks like it has been carved out of a big block of orange and black metal. The lines and look of the entire car just scream out pure MUSCLE CAR. Thick racing stripes adorn the bonnet and there is no mistaking the pedigree of this beast - Dodge all the way!

The drive train of the Dodge Challenger is equipped with a 6.1Litre V8 pumping out 425-hp, linked to a manual transmission with a pistol-grip shifter. Peeking in at the interior there is a sea of leather that is so beautifully crafted, unlike Muscle Cars of old there is side support for cornering which is nice

I like them
I think they look great and they don’t have 2 extra doors like that thing they call a Charger and from what I have read IIRC you can get a manual transmission in them

My fiancé likes them too she thinks we need one as the family car

Looks like to old one, untill you open the hood.
But, I expect that was the idea in the first place.

I like the looks and spirit of it but to compete with the Mustamg they will need to lower the projected price. The new GTO was too high priced but that didnt have the looks this does. Expect initial prices $40k+ for limited availability. Base is above 30K

Chrysler soured me with my 2000 Ram (bought new), the biggest POS I ever owned. ****** went out twice, brakes sucked, every timed it rained it smelled like a wet dog, the gauges would go beserk now and then, all fluids leaked except oil, AC went out after 3 years, the list went on..... Sold it after 4 years.

I think it's awesome! It looks bada$$, and probably goes like stink. It's just too bad that Mopar keeps the computer locked down so guys are real limited in what they can mod. I don't think I'd ever buy one, but I will admire it every time I see one.

Incidentally, a good friend of mine is storing his '70 Challenger in my garage right now. It's a Plum Krazy Purple R/T with 60-some thousand original miles. Really beautiful car. Now that the old Mopar prices are going crazy, he's thinking about selling it & getting one of the new ones instead. If he does that I might have to get one of the new Camaros.

Don't mean to hijack this thread but this sounds like my Chysler T&C minivan. Electrically problems, 6 sets of front brakes in 40k miles, etc, etc. Chrysler thought that I shouldn't be annoyed since the warranty covered everything. As I pointed out, it didn't cover having to sleep in the car when it conked out or worrying if the POS would stop every time you hit the brakes. The Challanger looks great but my MOPAR wounds are still smarting.

Love the look but not so sure about the price. The lease on my present car will be up in 09 and if these turn out ok it may be my next car, depending on price.

H'm I like the look. We get the right hook, 300c :pimpflash in Australia, so I wonder what the chances of a right hook Charger are.

I think a 6/71 and a bug catcher would look good on it?

Also just storing this for a friend, but I think I'll wait for the convert model and sell everything I own to get one.

I know the Plymouth brand is dead but that Charger has Fury written all over it. A 4 door Charger is blasphemous. The magnums are nice but they would look better with the 300's front clip.

I rented a new Magnum for a week while I was in Florida last month to see if I liked it enough to buy one when my Dodge Caravan lease is up this summer; I definitely liked it (put over 1,000 miles on it), and there's one in my future.

I'm glad they kept it looking vintage. That's about all I like about it. I probably wouldn't buy one because I'm not really into German cars. Except the classic Porsches (That's poor-shuh, not Porsh).

the srt-8 engine are 6.1L v8 HEMI. 300M and Charger use it as show SRT-8 logo on vehicle on trunk. i am automotive technician for chrysler and jeep dealership. it is pretty good vehicles. i know that transmission didn't do good if owner dont get transmission service on regular like 12,000 miles to 24,000 miles depend of design of transmission. but also some of transmission get problems because it get electric problem that cause inside of transmission damaged itself.

i did drive few 300M with SRT-8 and it is pretty powerful for that kind car. i would like buy it but right now it is not good time for gas mileages...... BUT it have new technology that if vehicle go on highway then engine will cut four cylinders off so other four cylinders will run and save gas instead have all eight cylinders.... it is good technology....

The term "muscle car" is over used. This car may have muscle but its not a true muscle car by the definition used to describe the real muscle cars of the 60s........Real muscle cars have high compression, and burn 100 octane gas for exzample.........there are other things that also that separate them from the real muscle cars.........

I think it looks badassed...too bad it took Ford redoing the mustang retro-style, then selling the hell out of them, for dodge to wake up and realize that they relly blew it with the new charger. THAT car was the one that really screamed "Dodge" until the made that ridiculous 4-door-magnum-with-a-trunk. I was sooo disappointed in the new charger. Well, I guess I'll just have to hang on to my '68...one of the most beautiful cars ever made, IMO.
