Here's a link to B3 Brands main site. They appear to be a newer manufacturer, started in the last year or so with 3 current brands, Dodge Hemi, PowerWorks, and Viper.dink said:They are positioned below all the big names in terms of quality....about even with Panasonic.....mainly for your ho hum DIY'r

"B3 Brands Inc. is situated in Richmond Hill, Ontario Canada where our new 200,000 square ft. facility houses our manufacturing and warehouse. Our in-house manufacturing capabilities include a tool and die plant with precision stamping equipment from 50 to 200 tons."
BTW, Panasonic drills are actually supposed to be damn good quality for the $$$, or at least I have heard (from woodworks...for what its worth lol)

99.9% of the time I am inclined agreee with you, but I disagree with you on this one. I will re bold certain words of what you cut and pasted off their site:

They warehouse tools, and all they truly have to do is produce items that have been stamped in some way.
Like you said, Implied they were made in Canada.
Wouldn't you think they would be proud to mention that their tools were made there instead of leading you to imply?
IMHO they are overseas made, rebadged and stored there until they are shipped.

They certainly do not deserve to be lumped in with a B3 badge engineered gimmick tool with the target customers being gift shoppers (wife/girlfriend(s)) of a guy who owns a vehicle with a Hemi (or wants to own a vehicle with a Hemi).

I really think they could care less...l_bilyk said:Yeah I think they are imported and badged in ontario.
It's odd that dodge would license the name for a chinese drill though.

SuperKid said:The Hemi is nothing but a marketing ploy. Dodge didn't invent it, and they're not the only one's that use it. They were just the first to figure out that people are suckers and will buy something because a bunch of pencil pushers have burned the notion that the Hemi is the greatest thing ever into their brains.

KeukaDan said:Just because a company has a warehouse does not mean nor imply that they import, all it states is that they manufacture, assemble or sell product. It states nothing about the manufacturing. I am an engineer in a fortune 500 company that has a many warehouses in every plant yet still makes products in the US.
I would guess that the are assembled in Canada with international parts.
As to Panasonic tools, they are actually considered to be pretty good.
Blacknwhitepit said:P.S. I have a great CORVETTE Vacuum (anyone remember those) that was made in the 90's. Hmmm made overseas.

Blacknwhitepit said:Dan,
Seems these exceptional HEMI tools are made in China.
To quote Superkid "You have to cut through all of the marketing BS and figure out what truly is good and what's just good because a marketing firm tells you it is."
In my own words: Got to read between the lines and pay attention to detail.

KeukaDan said:As I said in my post, the logic used was bad even if the theory was correct. It doesnt matter to me where they make the tools as I would never buy a product with the Dodge name on it, car, truck or otherwise. Now that being said, I also mentioned that I felt they were made from international parts and could be assembled in Canada but that is likely it, even if it goes that far. The important thing is for people to as you said "pay attention to detail". I do although feel that when people "read between the lines" they get themselves into trouble. You need to use logic when you do this. Stating that they have a wharehouse does not mean they manufacture in China. I believe that if you are going to voice your theories, your logic needs to be good. It doesnt do anyone good to spread bad information if you dont use good logic, just like the thread involving the craftsman warranty. There has never been any real evidence that it is going away but yet people have all sorts of theories which just turn people away from those tools for no reason.
To sum that all up Please use good logic when you make guesses on things you dont really know.
