Does a quality 2-3 drawer top handle toolbox exist?

I am looking for a quality top handle portable toolbox for my sons go kart tools. Ideally it would have 2-3 drawers with ball bearing drawers. Everything I see out there is pretty poor quality.

I think these toolboxes are beautiful and I used to own one as a teenager and thought about rebuying one for nostalgia. But, I struggle to see the use case For myself.

The only benefit I can think of for myself is if I wanted to store some sockets with me. I could use a vim mag rail and they’d stick to the inside of the metal drawers so maybe half of one drawer could be a small socket set.

OP I was looking hard for my own a while ago. Nothing new matched what I wanted. There was some good deals for ParX/SO boxes on ebay even with shipping. Ended up finding one close enough to pick up but the box is probably heavier than the tools in it haha. I'm looking to move over to a tenso cantilever box.

I have one of the brown Kennedy two drawer tool boxes. It is a nice compromise of size vs weight when full. Larger ones are nice IF you never need to move them. I would avoid roller slides if this tool box is really being bounced around.

The 3 drawer boxes are much more usable IMHO than a soft-bag. Or a cantilever box.

Cantilevers are nice, but the tool organizatioin *****. You basically need to unpack the whole thing in order to use it. Look at the beta organization in that Amazon add...its rediculous.

The 3 drawer boxes (with a nice deep top shelf under the lid) work like mini-tool carts...you get decent flat storage space, on each shelf, and the whole thing works on a small footprint.

Racetrack box, this kind of thing can do pretty well.

Thanks guys. I love the KTC/Stalhwille stuff buts that’s like 3 sets of tires for his kart. Tried a cantilever box I had and as posted you basically unload the whole box to get to what you need.

I like the top handle/drawer setup as I hope to put his M12 impact and ratchet, and tire gauges up top and hand tools (wrenches and sockets mainly) in the drawers

Kinda looking at these 3 at the moment. Boxo looks nice, bunch of paid shills on YouTube pushing the brand, Homak is at the top right now. Just not sure if Homak/Big Red is the the same manufacturer.

Maybe my standards are too low --- but, I find the all-steel Craftsman 3-drawer works fine for me. ... as long as it's the ball bearing version.

Don't know if they are even still made- seems like a lot of plastic is out there now. It's kind of a moot point for me since I have all I actually need.

I still love my Craftsman rally boxes. I have both the 3 drawer and the 4 drawer with the little cantilever tray in the top section.

Husky I think still sells a ball bearing 3 drawer that is decent for the price. Basically a ball bearing version of my old Craftsman ones.

I had a Rally box and now have the Husky. The one area where I dislike the Husky is the lock clasp vs the integrated lock on the Rally. When unlocked you can ignore the lock on the Rally. On the Husky you need to lift the clasp out of the way to open the box and if you don't hold it up while closing it will get pinched between the lid and side. I think a magnet to hold the clasp open would be nice.

I don't really like the tray that moves with the lid in either case as it means I have to watch what I put in the top area. When closing the tray moves forward into taller items on top. Things like a roll of duck tape don't fit up top because of that tray.

YOu can get decent KRA21's for a few hundred, they're durable as iron and pack a lot. Just beware of sellers in Kerrville, TX... I got scammed buying one from some con down there using his girlfriend's account... turns out he's a mostly lifer in the "State Correctional Psychiatric Facility"... it was my first time using the "not friends and family" thing on paypal, and I got my money back.

I like the vintage Craftsman gray/red in this style with friction slides. I really don't think ball bearing slides add much in this application.

Au contraire. If you don't get a drawer latched correctly before closing the lid, a slightly off balance lift can make that drawer go shooting out like a rocket.
