Does a shop in an ex-garage count?

Hello, I'm a high school teacher in Western Washington – if you took physics and remember a bridge that collapsed due to wind induced flutter we're at the western end of the bridge in Gig Harbor. There, I'm the more or less proud (on the less side right now) proprietor of a 20 x 20 hunk of driveway that became a carport that became a garage that became a shop (woodworking mostly). This summer we had the floor lowered and leveled, and I'm working on adding a decent door and some windows and getting it weatherized.

Welcome to the Forum from Southwestern California. I am in perhaps the only city as pretty as yours. My degree is in Adult Vocational Ed, I consider myself a half qualified Shop Teacher.

I'm going to build a set of carriage doors. I like the look and don't want to lose the overhead space or block my lights. Fortunately I'm don't think I have to worry too much about security. I think the carriage doors will be easer to insulate well too.
