where exactly do you apply the gorilla glue? do you use it like loctite and apply it to the thread of the bolts?

I didn't use anything other than what came with the cart to assemble it and when you tighten everything down it really is sturdy -- not wobbly at all. I don't think the glue is necessary on this piece.

The tool car has been showing up as 159.99 when I look at it online. Where are you guys seeing the 99 dollar price?

Just wait a little, the sale will come again...
I don't think a tool cart is something that is real urgent for most people...

Damn, I'm always a couple of days late on these things! I need to figure out why i dont get those coupons when I'm on their list.

Adam F.

I get the emails but not the US Mail fliers anymore. Used to but they stopped for some reason. I've tried signing up a couple more times but still nothing. Local store is no help -- maybe I will try calling corporate at some point.

My HF store can check on the register for the "sale" price (previous or next sale isn't clear) and most of the time offers it to me for that.

Where are you guys getting all these coupons? I looked online and that cart is at $159.99, did it just come off sale? I would love to get it sub-100 bucks at some point.

My Hf store has two different tool carts. Stay with the cheaper one, the $159.99 cart just doesn't seem as sturdy.

The cheaper cart comes with nylock nuts for bolting everything together and quite rigid. As a precaution though, I smeared the Gorilla glue on the mating steel surfaces. No problems so far.

I also used the gorilla glue on the mating surfaces. For what I paid the cart seems very sturdy and perfect for weekend warrier garage use.

I got the 20% off coupon on the 4x4 times forum. It never scans and only works randomly when the clerk manually puts in the code. If that happens, I just have them call the manager and he always puts in the override. No expiration date either:beer:

Putting the cart together was the first time I ever used gorilla glue. I am really glad I found the stuff. JB weld you have to mix and I never thought about using it for somethign like this. I guess it would work, but from my experience Jb weld tends to get kinda brittle. Moving the cart around in the shop/garage might casue it to crack.

You really do not need anything to put the cart together. At HF the cart seemed kinda flimsey, but after looking at how carelessly it was put together, I knew I could do a better job.

The fasteners that come with HF stuff are terrible. I always replace them with at least grade 5 hardware when possible.

I have seen Chinese nuts and bolts that are of no known hex size/diameter/thread pitch. :headscrat

I will keep my eye on this one as well.

BigSean keep us posted on the rebuild. I am building up my garage so I can do a timing belt and trans swap on my wrx. I want to do my own maintenance.

I'll be putting the motor back together next weekend. :)

Oh hell yeah! I have a whole bin full of chinese **** hardware... just awful. Hell, if they made decent hardware, we probably wouldn't need flank drive plus...

Welp...

Website was showing $159.99 for the cart.

I had to drive up to Salem, OR today (I live in Lebanon, OR) for some other stuff, and that's the nearest Harbor Freight, so I took one of the 20% off any single item coupons with me, and checked it out.

They're doing a big sidewalk sale promotion thing next weekend, when the cart will be $99.99.

In the store, however, it had a sign mounted to it (with the same model number) for $139.99.

It rang up as $159.99, but I got the manager to check the sign, and they adjusted.

20% off makes it $111.99.

Given the price of gas, I might have saved $3.00 by waiting another weekend.

Haven't assembled it yet, but the display was pretty decently assembled.

Display model was red, the sidewalk sale flyer showed red, website showed black.

Mine's black (which is awesome).

The box is heavy, which usually means good things. We'll see when I assemble it this weekend.

Really?!

Part number 95659?

The big gigantic/enlarged flyer in the window (and the paper one they were handing out) both showed it on the bottom left corner for $99.99, June 6th, 7th and 8th.

Welp, I just assembled my cart, and I've got to say, I'm pretty impressed.

The casters on it are of a better quality than the ones on the lower-midrange Craftsman stuff.

The fasteners seemed to be of decent quality, and they were supplied with lock-washers. I did follow the advice above, and used a bit of Gorilla Glue where possible, but I don't really think it was required.

All assembled, the thing is pretty darned sturdy, and well worth the $112 I payed for it.

The only complaints I have are relatively minor:

1> The fasteners on the corners were close enough together that I was prevented from using a GearWrench on much of it. I was able to get in there with a deep socket/ratchet combo on parts of it, but it would have been cool if I only needed the wrench.

2> The drawer liners aren't cut well enough, so I'm going to need to do some trimming to get them to lay perfectly flat. This complaint gets cancelled out by the fact this tool cart COMES WITH DRAWER LINERS. They're the semi-flexible thin-sliced foam type. This is a BIIIIG one-up on a lot of other higher-end or higher-priced stuff I've seen, where you have to by the liners seperately. All of the drawers are lined, the top compartment is lined, and the bottom of the cart is lined.

About 38" tall (with lid shut, didn't measure with lid open), 31" long (33" with the push-handle) and 18" wide.

Found the discrepancy
$169.99 is for part number 95631/95272 5 drawer cart
$99.99 is for the 4 drawer cart 95659

Two different flyers for the sidewalk sale.

A new HF opened in Woodbridge near my house. I called and asked for a price on the car last week. They had it at 159. They said the sidewalk sale is this weekend and asked that I come by then to get the 99.99 pricing. I'm still waiting and can't wait to snag this cart.

My garage is finally empty off all the stuff the last owners left and I am organizing it. Now we can do some additional work in the space. :D

This cart is also listed in their summer catalog for 99.99. So the price should be good through August 1st if you have the catalog. The only weird thing is the item number listed is 95659-6BNA which seems to differ from the online item number.

If you have a harbor freight close you might want to wait and see if this drops to 79.99 like it did before.

I'd buy this today for $99. Could you give me the catolog number you have so I can call and try to get that price? Thanks!

I'll be putting the motor back together next weekend. :)

Nice what was the outcome?!

I have to say the unit is home and is in use. I love the thing. What a great way to spend 99 bucks. I modded it a little when I finished putting it together. I had some leftover rubber underbody sealant so I scuffed the top down and sprayed it with the rubbercoat.

It was going to get scratched anyway at least now it will look good.

I used the cart while building my dumpsterscrap tig table. It worked great.

I already have a Craftsman two tray service cart, but I wanted a cheap cart with ball bearing drawers. This seems to be a pretty good value at $99. Does anybody have any experience with this cart?

Talk to the manager, several of them at the store I haunt give me sale prices anytime I ask, especially on bigger ticket items. Seems like all the registers show the last sale price, maybe for returns or something, so I give them the sku and ask when the next sale is.

I have one of those carts, but mine was branded K-Tool. It was an Xmas gift about three years ago. It is fine for me, but I really cannot see it holding up in a professional environment. Mine stays pretty stationary...

Yep - actually if you look up part # 95659-6BNA they are $189

I went by the local HF today - sidewalk sale starts at 0700 in the morning (3 OCT) - the flyer has this #95659 (red cart) at $149.99 - regular $179.99

But.........
the same part number (4 drawer) cart is available as a special order item (save $40 until 20 October) for $139.99 every day.

I think the $99 deals are over - I think I am going to get the 4 drawer special order and use my 20% coupon - is this cart worth $112???

Sounds like maybe so - a 4-drawer Crapsman cart at Sears like this is $400, a 2 drawer of lesser quality is $200. A Waterloo 3-drawer cart at Lowe's is $225.
