Does anyone else have the same problem I do when they go to the garage?

This is not meant as a joke, but when I
go out to the garage, I almost immediately
have to go back in to the house for a
number 2. LOL It’s very aggrevating.
I’m not sure if it’s the smells, or the
anxiousness to get going on something
or maybe the exercise from the 75ft. walk
from the house to the garage or what.

Well, not my garage but everytime I have to work in the basement (trying to finish it) or anytime I mow the lawn I have to come back in for a #2. It sure is weird but I'm ok with it

I take some bulk natural fiber (mixed with water) everyday. It really makes you regular. In the morning, you will get up and empty your bowels once and then have your shower. I hardly ever have to do 2 #2's in one day. lol

I have experienced same, I think its just walking around, and I usually am drinking fluids before this. I think the exact same thing would happen if I went to get the mail first.

Dang... depending on what and how much I eat I can go 2-4 times a day. Even with eating a higher fiber diet

Do you smoke/vape? Nicotine causes this 100x more than caffeine does in my experience.

But otherwise, yeah, it's the walking.

My father was a plumbing/heating contractor who had a small shop and four men working for him on average. Every morning, he would walk out to the shop to give the guys their assignments for the day. And, every day, he would have to hurry to get the meeting over because he had to rush back into the house for the same reason. Apparently, it's not uncommon.......just glad I don't have the same problem.

Did you just say "a number 2"?

LOL

I looked up nervous stomach, they are
calling it IBS now. I do seem to have
some of those same issues.

I’m 52, DO NOT SMOKE, and rarely ever
drink any caffeine. These issues started
about 3.5 years ago I guess.

I take fiber regularly and try to eat a salad
every day. It’s extremely easy to get out
of whack.

If you're worried about IBS, see a doctor.

If you were to have IBD (IBS can indicate or lead to IBD as S is syndrome and D is disease), you might actually find fiber to be extremely unhelpful.

I was advised to take fiber once upon a time, and within a week I was in the hospital where I found out I had Crohn's Disease, a form of IBD, and it was explained that I specifically need to not have too much fiber.

Did you happen to be on any antibiotics 3.5 years ago? I only ask because some antibiotics can play hell on your digestive system. Some can even damage your intestines.

I don’t recall, but I have taken some in
the past. I guess I’d have to call the
doctor and inquire about the meds and
their time frames.

I have to go back in the house, not for a #2 though....it's because I forgot what I was going to the garage to do.

Occasionally I have this problem. Or have to go to the house because I need some tool or part that I left there. LOL.

But for the OP that's why I am putting a half bath in the shop (what I call the detached garage).

In my case it happens when I am looking for something. Doesn't matter if it is garage, basement or pole building, gotta factor in an extra 5 for a trip to the toilet.
The bending and twisting has a lot to do with it, I'm sure.

Maybe buy another set of phillips or robertson screwdrivers to keep in the garage? Then you wouldn't have to go back in to get the #2. LOL

I've had the same problem, either going down to the basement shop or out to the garage. I think it is the walk that loosens thing up. I've also noticed that I need to make sure I've done "that" before going to the store or else I'll get a strong urge to go while walking the aisles. If I go before leaving, then I'm fine.

Back when we had dial up internet when I would sit at the computer and connect I would usually have to pee while the modem was doing its thing. I began to think it was a learned/conditioned thing. Like Pavlov's dog.

I suspect its the walk, especially if its the first real activity of the day. That, or you just notice it more because of the inconvenience of having to walk back to the house.

If you suspect IBS/IBD, don't mess around - talk to your doctor right away. Watched a good friend try to "tough it out" for too long. Now he's got it pretty much under control, but he spent a long time needlessly dealing with it because he didn't want to admit that there might be something wrong.

Same here, but I get the urge before I start the twisting and bending.
