Well, I received my five piece set of hammers today from Impact Poly Hammers and I have to say, these things are superb pieces of work. I picked up the 14, 20, 36 and 52 oz dead blows and the 6 lb. mini-sledge, probably more than I needed, but given the shipping cost I decided to go for broke and get them all in one shot.

I will admit that I had almost unrealistically high expectations going into this, but they still exceeded my expectations by quite a bit! These guys really know what they're doing and they have an extremely high quality product on their hands.

The hammers themselves look and feel great. Excellent finish, very high quality, thick resin and they have very good heft and balance to them. The finish is smooth enough that they should be very easy to clean when they get greasy or gunked up. Overall, these hammers are much more solid and substantial than any dead-blows I have ever seen or used before, including the truck brands. I think they were an excellent value and worth every penny.

I'm going to try and get some pics to add to this thread, but in the meantime I just wanted to get the word out that these things lived up to the hype and then some. Absolutely excellent product.

Kudos to gf24 for his persistence in sharing these with GJ and also to Impact Poly Hammers for an outstanding product and great service!

I work all over Canada and was in Lethbridge last week, more specifically at Silver Auto Parts. They had one of your deadbow/steel combo hammers in a nice blue colour. If the truck hadn't already been dragging it's *** from all the tools in there...Do all of your hammers come in the blue colours, or just certain models?

Anyway, just wanted to say that when I asked the guys behind the counter for the price, they did an excellent job of repping your product. Sorry, didn't get the clerk's name.

That blue hammer at Silver Auto is a 13.5 lbs, short handle, dual-steel/polymer face sledge. It was the only type made in blue - limited edition. We have eight or so left in stock. One only is in orange.
The mold for that hammer has been modified to a make a 10 lbs. standard sledge and can also be used to produce a dual face long handle sledge weighting about 14 lbs.
Troy has experimented with different colours over the years but for the most part settled for safety orange for most all of his hammers. The exception is the 12 lbs.sledge which is poured in red - to differentiate it from the 15 lbs. which is physically the same size. Also, the woodworker hammer, which is made with a soft polymer comes in gray only.
Originally Impact hand held hammers were black. We had a report, one was forgotten under the hood of a truck. The fan picked it up and made a mess. Engine compartments are mostly black/dark and orange will show up better.

Ok guys, tried to add some pictures of the hammers. Picture quality isn't too great, but the best I could come up with at the moment. Threw in the F936 to give what should be a very familiar visual reference for most people on this board.

First picture is the whole 5 piece set, smallest to largest.

Should go without saying, but in the second pic, the hammer that you see by itself is the 6lb mini-sledge. That sucker has some heft, very impressive to hold in hand.

Last but not least I took a shot comparing the 36 and 52oz dead-blows. I wish the pictures could convey the solid build and sheer quality of these hammers, but you probably have to hold one in your hand to get the full effect. All the more reason to give these fine folks some business!

And yeah, the handles are great. They feel like they'd be really snug in hand, even if it were greasy. As I said before, the finish seems to me like it would make the tool very easy to clean, from top to bottom, since it's all the same kind of surface.

I seriously can't say enough about these hammers. I played with a few dead-blows in Sears tonight and there was simply no comparison, even to the best ones that Sears had. Impact Poly Hammers for the win.

I actually wrote to Troy last week as well and just heard back. I believe he's been out of town (that happened to me once before). I guess when it's just one guy that's to be expected now and then. Hopefully he's just getting caught up on emails.

I don't want to sound like a salesman, but these hammers are worth the wait.

The best shipping deal appears to be Canada Post - Expedited Parcel USA.
Just enter the following URL into google, http://www.canadapost.ca/Personal/Tools/RC/Canada.aspx , to calculate shipping costs to various states in the U.S. Our postal code here in Lethbridge is T1K4X9. Be sure to change from Metric to English as the site default is metric.

The four small hammers (52,36,20,14oz. will fit into a box - 16" X 9" 3.5" It weights 11.4lbs.
For example, the shipping cost to ship this 11.4lbs. parcel to Montana = C$21.63, to Illinois = C$28.60. And the most distanced states, Florida/Alaska = C$30.01 These prices are in Canadian funds. The Canadian dollar is about .85 cents U.S. including exchange as of today. Not too bad a price.

Please note: The four small (52, 36, 20, 14oz) Impact Ploy Hammers are head weight only. If you include the weight of the handle, the total hammer weights is as follows.

52oz. = 73oz. or 4.6lbs. 36oz. = 54oz. or 3.4lbs, 20oz. = 27oz. or 1.7lbs. 14oz. = 18oz. or 1.13lbs.

I think the bigger question is, has anyone else on this thread bought any of these hammers from IPH yet? Seems like a lot of interest but no takers? I feel bad for people on the fence because they're missing out. I don't regret a penny of what I spent and only wish I had ordered them sooner. But hey, that's just me.
