We recently shipped an order of hammers to: Keman Industrial Technologies, #130 - 19358 - 96th Ave. Surrey, British Columbia.

Happy New Year to all on this form.

Thanks!

Was looking to get SO, but now I want to try this out. What is the warranty like on your hammers?

Polymer hammers have a usable life span just like tires, eventually they will wear out and can be destroyed any time at will. Impact Poly Hammers are warranted against defective materials and workmanship.

We will provide a replacement hammer under warranty for the following

- Twisting handles. In cases where the amathane bond has de laminated allowing the outer urethane handle to be twisted on the inner steel shaft.

- Weld joint failure. Only in cases where the weld itself has failed. This includes only weld failure or weld pull away. Warranty does not cover handle breakage due to metal fatigue failures that occur beyond where the weld ends. We advise the stores to recommend to the customer that if they are breaking handles they should be using the next larger available size for there application or realize their usage is extreme sevice.

- Damaged hammers that have resulted from improperly cured urethane. The material will have a glassy look to it and be very brittle. Even light striking of the hammer on a concrete floor will crack the urethane material. Please insist that store staff wear eye protection whenever striking or testing hammers to see if this is the problem. Please note that this is extremely rare due to the quality control during the casting process.

Impact Poly hammers are not warranted for

- UV damage or melting as a result of being used on or placed near hot objects.

- Any damages that occur to the hammer faces or sides of the hammers head.

- Damages that occur to the striking faces in normal temperature or including those related to extreme cold weather usage. Damages as a result of extreme cold weather may often be recognized by store staff, as having a glassy appearance to the surfaces along an exposed break in the urethane. If the tip of a ball point pen is able to be pushed or sunk into the urethane material approx 1/32" at room temperature along the glassy break edge of the material, then this is an indication the hammer was frozen when the break occurred. If the urethane material was hard like glass at room temperature, then this is an indication of an improperly cured hammer at the casting stage and the hammer will be covered under warranty. Please note that this is an extremely rare condition due to the tight controlled condition during casting.

- Bent handles due to extreme use, prying or cantilevering/bottoming out on the neck.

Meh. I think if you can get to a retail outlet and hold one of the Impact Poly Hammers in hand, you'll never think about SO again.:thumbup:

With the Canadian dollar at 78.5 US dollar, these hammers are a real deal for US customers.
Recently, the Alcoa Fastener plant at Carson, Ca. purchased a good number of Impact dead blow hammers for use in their plant.

Well, YYC of course.
I know I know - old and moldy but I found their contact information as a result of this thread last night.

I've had a 20-ounce version in my hands for the better part of 13 years now and it's still ticking strong. I've been through so many SOs in the same period, I've lost count. I emailed them last night looking for a local distributor and the owner responded an hour or less. I found two stocking retailers today that both have stock of the unit I'm after. Great hammers, can't say enough about them.

I got a 3 lb Harbor Freight orange dead blow and it seems to work fairly well; one of the few tools from HF that I like ..

Just culled that from my collection, it on the to be given away pile.
Replaced with SO set.
